Daring the Bad Boy (Endless Summer) by Monica Murphy

October 27, 2016

I think that it’s safe to say that I might be in love with the Entangled Teen Crush series. These books have been the perfect escape from reality. With all the wedding planning and family drama, this was my breath of fresh air. I would say hands Down this is the perfect summer read for young adults. It’s fluffy, nostalgic, adorable, and just so swoon worthy.

The story starts off with Annie preparing to leave for summer camp. She's a good girl but a loner, she's hoping to reinvent herself. She'd like to do all those things teenage girls do, make friends, be daring and talk to the cute boy. She very relatable as the heroine and fun to root for.

As for Jake, who has made my list of perfect literary boyfriends, is your resident bad boy and with the threat of juvie hanging over his shoulder, his father sends him to work with his uncle at summer camp. His uncle is supposed to straighten him out, and if he steps out of line he'll be carted off back home and straight to juvie. This hero makes you swoon right from the beginning. I cheered for him and I defended him.

I absolutely loved reading both from Jake's and Annie's POV. They were really great characters who develop a lot throughout this book. At least Jake did. I think chapter nineteen is right about where I began to have murderous thoughts about Annie. The fact that she ran off behind Jake’s back made me scream. My feelings towards her took a turn and I don’t think they ever came back on track. I was team Jake %100.

Another plus side about this book is that it’s very realistic. Annie's relationship with her camp friends, her crush on Kyle that develops by the whole atmosphere that her friends created, that one move she made behind Jake's back (eye roll). All of these things while annoying all happens in real life, not everything is perfect or overdone. I thought the book was very well written and very entertaining and relatable.

5 Stars. Highly Recommended.

Side Note: I have a new love for paper airplanes thanks to Jake.
